Just off Castle Walk in Bridgnorth, with views over the valley, a small bridal boutique has been making gowns that brides travel a long way to find. My Little Wedding Shop has now been named West Midlands Wedding Designer of the Year 2026 at The Wedding Industry Awards.

The boutique was founded in 2011 by designer Jennifer Bone, whose background in theatrical costume brings a twist to traditional bridal design. After graduating with a degree in Costume Production from Rose Bruford College in London in 2000, she worked in theatre and opera, designing and creating costumes.

Today the shop specialises in unique, made to order bridal wear crafted in Shropshire. It offers in-house collections alongside a bespoke design service, and describes its approach as sustainable design. Brides have travelled from all over the UK and Europe, and even from Australia, to have their gowns made by the team.

The bespoke process starts with a relaxed consultation about the venue and the feel of the wedding, before fabrics, colours and laces are explored and sketched. The dress is then made to measure, with several fittings as it comes to life. The bespoke design service starts from £1,450, and the boutique also offers end of line, ex-sample and discontinued gowns and accessories. Collections are designed with comfort in mind too, with corsetry cut to support without feeling restrictive and skirts that hold their shape while staying light.

The boutique has also championed British designers. This spring it arranged a designer event with Harriet Wilde, the London wedding shoe designer, offering appointments where brides could order shoes in any style or size with a personalised sole message.

Its gowns and veils have featured in Vogue, Hello!, Love My Dress, Rock N Roll Bride and West Midlands Wedding Magazine, among others.

Visits are by appointment, so each bride has the team's full attention while trying different silhouettes and colour shades. For anyone planning a wedding, it is a chance to see the drape of the materials and the detail of the lace up close.

My Little Wedding Shop is at 3 Castle Terrace, Bridgnorth, WV16 4AH. To book an appointment, visit mylittleweddingshop.co.uk.
